How should I get ready for my first Online Pilates Class?

Hello everyone! I know it has been long time since I wrote a blog. I was super busy but I will try to do it more regularly! But anyway let’s talk about how to get ready for your first Online Pilates Class.

I do mostly online classes now since many of my clients prefer like that since lockdown. And when I start working with new clients they usually ask me how to get ready for their first online Pilates class. So, I decided to write a blog about it.

This blog is for you if it’s your first Pilates class at all, or if you’ve done it in person but it’s your first time online!

1- Wear comfy and Fun Clothes

Our first rule didn’t change. Wear clothes that help you to move your body! Perhaps leggings, a t-shirt or a sports bra? But choose something that makes you feel happy and gives you energy! Yes you are at home but it doesn’t mean that you shouldn’t care about how you look.

2- Check your camera

This is super important! Nobody wants to stop and try to find the right position for the camera during the exercise. So I definitely suggest you do this before the class.

There are 3 main positions in Pilates: Standing, lying down and on all fours. So make sure you decide where you’re going to put your device when your instructor gives the exercises for these positions. Of course you might need to adjust it a little bit during the session depending on the exercise, but it will still take less time!

3- Check your Internet connection

Sometimes there might be an issue or slow period with the internet, but make sure you usually have fast internet or connect your mobile phone if that’s better. Otherwise, it might stop working during exercise which nobody wants!!

4- Relax and enjoy

It might be hard if you aren’t active in general but don’t be stressed or too harsh on yourself. You will get better once you start to do it regularly! Enjoy moving your body and thank yourself after the practice.
